A FRAMEWORK FOR PREDICTABLE ENDODONTIC SUCCESS
From Vital Pulp Therapy to Anatomic Shaping and Filling of the root canal everything is changing!!!!
This unique program is a collaborative effort of the Penn Dental Medicine Department of Endodontics and Dr. Martin Trope, the founder of Next Level Endodontics, for the practitioner who seeks to provide his or her patients with long-term predictable clinical success. The course content is derived from the most current biologic knowledge and the clinical application of this science. This course is designed for recent graduates who may not have had enough exposure to endodontics in their training or the experienced practitioner who wants to update his/her didactic and clinical skills so as to predictably and efficiently treat most cases in a private practice setting.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The course covers all current biological concepts for positive endodontic treatment outcomes. The technical aspects of this endodontic course are covered by hands-on and live demonstrations. A variety of instruments and techniques are discussed and demonstrated with videography using the dental microscope. The paramount aim of the course is to enable the participant to perform the full scope of endodontic procedures and to understand endodontic biologic principles in order to evaluate new instruments and techniques and to evolve along with the revolutionary and evolutionary changes in the discipline. This course includes a half-day presentation by Dr. Alan Atlas entitled Save the Tooth! Reconstruction of Compromised Teeth from Endodontics to Final Restoration
Class size is small ensuring individualized attention for attendees.
Attendees are asked to bring 20 extracted teeth with half of them accessed for endodontic treatment.
- Biologic foundation of endodontics; the biologic science behind predictable success
- Access; the fundamental requirements for access are reviewed and basic rules for adequate access presented. Minimal but adequate access is the ultimate aim!!!!
- Fundamentals of the dental operating microscope
- Hands-on instruction
- Live patient demonstration
- Anatomic instrumentation and passive obturation
- Hands-on instruction
- Anesthesia for the endodontic patient; tips for adequate anesthesia even for the hot tooth!!

Day 4 Course Description:
This interactive course will cover the spectrum of treatment options for the restoration of the compromised endodontically treated tooth. Participants will learn risk assessment principles necessary to determine the clinical requirements for successful tooth preservation. Step-by-step protocols for post selection, post and core placement, and tooth preparation will be visualized with HD video obtained with a dental microscope. Innovative workflows will be introduced for integrating endodontic therapy with scanning and milling. A concise hands-on workshop will demonstrate adhesion and restorative protocols for placement of post and core foundational restorations.
Day 4 Course Objectives:
- Understand the full scope of endodontic and restorative diagnostic risk factors necessary to treatment plan tooth preservation or tooth removal
- Understand the when, why and how strategies to simplify placement of posts and core materials
- Utilize precise preparation protocols to improve scanning and milling procedures as well as conventional impressions
- Demonstrate clinical protocols for anterior and posterior ceramic based restorations from treatment planning to cementation
- Implement innovative and reduced workflows for integrating endodontic therapy with chairside scanning and milling
Continental breakfast and lunch are included each day.
